Rigetti Computing Named to MIT Technology Review's Annual 50 Smartest Companies List

BERKELEY, Calif., June 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Rigetti Computing, an emerging quantum computing company racing Google and IBM to deliver the first useful quantum computers, has been named to MIT Technology Review's 2017 list of 50 Smartest Companies.

To make the list, a company must exhibit technological leadership and business acumen which set them apart from competitors.

Last week, Rigetti Computing launched Forest, the first programming and execution environment for quantum/classical computing. Forest, based on a shared memory architecture, enables users to develop and run quantum algorithms today. The company is focused on partnerships with Fortune 50 companies and other industry leaders.

Rigetti Computing is a full-stack quantum computing company, and Forest is a full-stack product. In addition to building software, the company designs and manufactures quantum chips in its recently unveiled Fab-1, the world's first commercial quantum integrated circuit fab.

Earlier this year, Rigetti Computing announced $64 million in Series A and Series B financing from Andreessen Horowitz, Vy Capital, nd other leading Silicon Valley investors.
