Ping Identity Announces Winners of the 2017 Identity Excellence Awards at Cloud Identity Summit


Ping Identity®, the Identity Security Company, today announced the winners of the 2017 Identity Excellence Awards at Cloud Identity Summit in Chicago. The awards recognize the achievements of Ping Identity customers that are driving innovation and excellence in identity across the following categories: Intrepid Innovator, Cloud Commander, Modern IAM Maven, Security Revolutionary and Customer Experience Champion.

With each submission, judges determined how each nominee has used identity to advance their organizations and the industry. Here are the winners across all five categories:

The Intrepid Innovator award goes to Netflix for creating a developer self-service tool to enable authentication and authorization services for their applications and APIs.

To combat an increasing number of requests to modify the connections to over 400 engineering apps, Netflix built a developer self-service tool using PingFederate, ending requests for client management, freeing up engineering resources and significantly boosting productivity.

Intrepid Innovator Runner Up: Not publicly announced

The Cloud Commander award goes to Johnson & Johnson for embracing the potential of the cloud.

Johnson & Johnson Services Inc. is being recognized for their success in streamlining single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication implementations, dropping SLAs from over 12 weeks to less than two, and leveraging cloud federation services to enable over 1000 SaaS instances in record time to enable teir global digital business.



Cloud Commander Runner Up: Merck

The Modern IAM Maven award goes to Cisco (News - Alert) for engaging its employees as they modernized their legacy MFA systems.


Cisco used a creative internal marketing campaign, dubbed "Swipe" to roll out PingID, Ping's multi-factor authentication technology, connecting its global workforce of 130,000 with 3,000 internal and cloud-based apps. Through this campaign, Cisco implemented a custom self-service registration flow and created a highly visible, but optional, Digital Login page, allowing the company to exceed the goal to have 30 percent of its workforce registered before the mandatory roll-out. This initiative reduced password reset requests from 200 to five per month.

Modern IAM Maven Runner Up: Comcast (News - Alert)

The Security Revolutionary award goes to Navigant for reducing the time it takes to securely add new services.

Navigant deployed PingID and PingFederate, and replaced Oracle (News - Alert) with PingAccess to provide its employees and customers with easy, fast access to apps like Office 365 with a high level of security. Now users can add services in hours instead of weeks.

Security Revolutionary Runner Up: Citi

The Customer Experience Champion award goes to Service NSW for winning customers over with secure, engaging experiences.

Service NSW, an organization within the New South Wales government, deployed PingFederate to provide its citizens with a seamless single sign-on experience to all government services - driving a significant increase in online transactions.
