Opus Community Foundation Announces 20 Grant Awards to Charitable Organizations in Arizona, California, Oregon, and Washington

Opus Bank ("Opus") (NASDAQ: OPB) and the Opus Community Foundation ("Foundation") announced today the Foundation's approval of 20 grant awards to charitable organizations that Opus and the Foundation believe will strengthen and engage the communities which Opus serves.

The grants were awarded to nonprofit organizations in Arizona, California, Oregon, and Washington that focus on education, financial literacy, community health services, work readiness programs, and the arts.

Arizona:

VALLEYLIFE received a grant to support its workforce development programs, which provide job placement, retention, and support services that increase successful employment outcomes for adults with disabilities, mental illness, or other significant barriers to employment.

California:

Accelerate Change Together ("ACT") Anaheim received a grant to support its mission of improving the lives of Anaheim's underserved youth by collaborating with community organizations to engage youth and their parents in programs that strengthen families and communities.

Accion San Diego received a grant to support its financial education and microlending programs, which empower individuals in the small business community to build their self-sufficiency, credit history, and business operations.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Orange (News - Alert) Coast received a grant to support its IMPACT Model program, which provides afterschool academic assistance, career preparation support, health and fitness instruction, and academic enrichment opportunities to students in grades K through 12.

Caesura Youth Orchestra received a grant to support its programs, which promote the growth and development of children through the study, practice, and performance of music.

Casa de Amparo received a grant to support its safety net programs, which are designed to provide children with safe alternative housing, break the generational cycle of family violence, and prevent behaviors that endanger children.

Community Institute for Psychotherapy received a grant to support its programs, which provide safety-net mental health services for low-income families, children, and adults and address the problems that lead to cycles of poverty, school failure, violence, helplessness, and hopelessness.

High School Inc. Foundation received a grant to support its educational programs, which provide industry training to high school students in Santa Ana, California and offer structured pathways to careers in culinary arts, hospitality, healthcare, automotive, logistics, new media, global business, engineering, and computer science.

Lennox Education Advancement Foundation received a grant to support its educational programs, which provide funding for teachers in the Lennox School District to purchase art, math, science, and technology supplies, programs, and experiences.

Mary Erickson Community Housing received a grant to support its programs, which are focused on the acquisition, development, redevelopment, and management of affordable housing in Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties.

Power 4 Youth received a grant to support its youth mentoring programs, which pair at risk middle and high school students with adult mentors, who help improve the students' academic and life skills.

Teens Exploring Technology received a grant to support its programs, which use technology and computer programming as tools that promote positive youth development, develop discipline, and build confidence through collaboration and long-lasting life skills, and ultimately pave the way to higher education and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).

Oregon:

Portland Opera Association received a grant to support its Portland Opera To Go program, which provides fine arts performances to schools and communities that would otherwise have little to no access to ongoing arts learning.

Washington:

Greater Seattle Bureau of Fearless Ideas received a grant to support its arts education programs, which are designed to improve writing, increase creativity, build empathy, and foster a growth mindset. Participants enjoy greater self-confidence and improved school achievement, leading to a greater likelihood of high school graduation and matriculation to post-secondary education.

Home Trust of Skagit received a grant to support its programs, which are focused on the acquisition, development, redevelopment, and management of affordable housing in Skagit County.

InvestED received a grant to support its programs, which reduce barriers for low-income students by providing financial support for activity fees, school supplies, sports and music equipment, transportation, and clothing, allowing the students to participate fully in school activities and achieve academic success.

Snohomish Education Foundation received a grant to support its summer educational programs, which are designed to fill summer learning gaps, create a lifelong passion for learning, and expose students to new opportunities.

Additionally, the Foundation provided grants to Junior Achievement of Arizona and Junior Achievement of Orange County to support their financial literacy programs, which teach students in grades K through 12 to understand finances, complete fundamental financial tasks, improve their circumstances, and thrive in the real world by instilling accountability for one's finances.
