Connect&GO and Mobeewave's Cashless Payment Solution Enabled by Global Payments to Be Used at C2 Montréal

Montreal technology companies Connect&GO and Mobeewave will unveil a revolutionary payment acceptance solution for the first time in Canada at C2 Montréal, the international business conference held May 24-26, 2017. Enabled by the innovative payment solutions of Global Payments Inc. (NYSE: GPN), a leading worldwide provider of payment technology services, the solution will allow attendees to make purchases at the event by simply tapping their credit cards or radio-frequency identification (RFID) badges directly on vendors' mobile devices.

Launched at SXSW (News - Alert) in March, the partnership between Connect&GO and Mobeewave combines RFID technology and mobile contactless payment acceptance to offer an all-in-one cashless solution for live events. Harnessing both companies' expertise, this solution enables event attendees to make payments by simply tapping an RFID-enabled badge or wristband, a mobile wallet or a contactless credit card to a near field communication (NFC) enabled smartphone.

"We're delighted that this innovative cashless payment acceptance solution will be used at C2 Montréal," said Maxime de Nanclas, COO and Co-Founder of Mobeewave. "It's only fitting that a service that's going to revolutionize how payments are accepted at events around the world will be provided at a conference that's known for challenging conventions. The fact that a solution that was created in Montréal is also going to be showcased in its hometown is extra special."

"Offering options for our clients to accept multiple methods of payments is what positions Connect&GO as a leading architect of cashless experiences. It's not just about technology, it's about working within an event's setting and discovering the best way for people to purchase what they want, when they want and how they want. We're really always thinking about every detail of the participant's experience and that's why C2 Montréal has been the most rewarding environment in which to innovate," said Anthony Palermo, CEO at Connect&GO.

Turning a Smartphone Into a Contactless Payment Terminal
With payments technology provided by Global Payments, the solution provided by Connect&GO and Mobeewave turns a smartphone into a mobile point-of-sale terminal - removing the need for cable connections, external hardware or Bluetooth devices. Whether located at a fixed location or moving throughout a venue, merchants can accept contactless payment using just their smartphone. In addition to accepting payments, the solution alo provides features such as inventory-tracking and detailed sales reporting.

"We're excited to partner with Connect&GO and Mobeewave to debut this innovative new acceptance solution in Canada at C2 Montréal," said Frank Young, SVP, Global Product and Innovation at Global Payments. "This state-of-the-art technology is ideal for conferences and events; the streamlined payment process creates new payment experiences and changes the way attendees and vendors interact."

Debuting at C2 Montréal
"Once more, C2 breaks the barrier in integrating cutting edge technology to enhance the participant experience at the conference. Thanks to the Connect&GO and Mobeewave solution, vendors will be able to preload their menu items straight into their smartphones and will be able to accept contactless payment directly on their device. They will also be able to track all sales in real time. As each RFID badge is registered to a guest's personal profile, a receipt for each transaction will be sent directly to them via email," explains Martin Énault, COO with C2 Montréal.
