Tasktop Announces David Wong as Vice President of EngineeringTasktop, the leader in Value Stream Integration, today announced David Wong has joined the company as vice president of engineering. Wong is a seasoned innovator with more than 25 years of experience in the high-tech industry. Throughout his career he has been involved with earlier stage organizations dealing with nascent technologies that generally target emerging markets. "With Value Stream Integration, Tasktop is solving one of the hardest problems in software delivery," said Mik Kersten, CEO and co-founder of Tasktop. "To do that, we have had to create an entirely new paradigm, called model-based integration, and a whole new way of continually testing over 50 different tools and hundreds of versions. We are rapidly scaling our engineering team to accelerate the rate of innovation, and with that I realized that we needed to bring in a seasoned engineering leader who has solved similarly complex problems and grown highly effective delivery teams in other domains. I made a pilgrimage to Palm Springs to try to pull Dave Wong out of retirement and convince him to join us on the mission of transforming how software is built. I could not be happier that we now have such an incredible addition to our leadership team. Dave is a world class technology leader, and an amazing person and thinker that will have a tremedous impact on our team and our customers." "When Mik approached me with the opportunity to join Tasktop, I was more than ready to jump on board and contribute to Tasktop's leadership with a category defining product," said Wong. "As VP of engineering I will continue to enhance Tasktop's strong culture of developing, delivering and supporting high-quality software solutions in a timely manner to meet the needs of current and future customers. In addition, I am committed to developing a transparent, inclusive environment where people can thrive." Previously, Wong was the VP of product development at Bycast Inc., an early stage enterprise cloud storage provider. Before that, Wong was VP of product development at PMC-Sierra (News - Alert), a leading provider of broadband communications and storage semiconductors. In this role, Wong oversaw the development of several product families, growing the design team to 100+, and helped coordinate the company's successful entry into the fiber channel and SAS (News - Alert) markets. Previously, Wong was one of the 30 founders of PMC as well as a technical leader at Packet Engines, a successful gigabit switch router start-up that was acquired by Alcatel in late 1998. Wong has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia and holds 11 U.S. patents.
