Amazon, Best Buy Offer Pre-Orders of Norton Core

Norton by Symantec (News - Alert) (NASDAQ: SYMC) today announced that Norton Core, a secure Wi-Fi router, is available for pre-order purchase at Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) and Best Buy (NYSE: BBY). Consumers can pre-order the high-performance router, that delivers fast and secure internet throughout the home, to protect home networks and their connected personal devices from malware, viruses and hackers.

With an increasing number of connected devices in today's homes, there is a need to protect home networks from malware and other malicious activity that could place the safety of families, and their personal information, at risk. While 62 percent of consumers globally believe connected devices are built with security in mind1, Symantec researchers identified security vulnerabilities in 50 different connected home devices2, ranging from smart thermostats to smart hubs that could make the devices easy targets for attacks.

"It's important for consumers to protect their connected homes as hackers will always find new and sophisticated ways to target connected devices and attempt to access personal and financial information," said Fredrik Torstensson, senior vice president, global consumer sales, Symantec. "Norton Core's availability through Amazon and Best Buy (News - Alert) offer an opportunity to reach millions of savvy consumers, showing people they can easily, and beautifully, incorporate security and digital safety into their connected homes."

Amazon and Best Buy will offer Norton Core through online pre-orders for a limited time at $249.99 ($279.99 MSRP), bundled with a one-year complimentary subscription to Norton Core Security Plus that includes protection for an unlimited number of connected personal devices such as laptops, desktops, Macs, Android (News - Alert) and iOS smartphones, tablets, and IoT/connected devices3. Norton Core is available in two color options: Titanium Gold and Granite Gray.

In addition to online availability, Norton Core will be featured as an innovative offering in select Best Buy store locations nationwide this summer. Consumers will be able to interact in select stores with touch-screen displays, and view a video to learn more about Norton Core.
