Weebly Announces Weebly Wanderlust, a Six-Week Sabbatical Program That Includes International Round-Trip Airfare

Weebly, the global website and eCommerce service empowering more than 45 million entrepreneurs worldwide, announced today a new six week paid sabbatical program called Weebly Wanderlust. The extended paid leave is for employees who have been with the company for 5 years or more and will include a round-trip plane ticket to travel anywhere in the world.

The Weebly Wanderlust sabbatical is currently applicable to 10% of Weebly's national workforce. Weebly implemented the Wanderlust program to proactively reduce burnout and to encourage team members to travel, expand their worldview and check something off their bucket list.

According to a Staples Advantage Survey, "about one in five employees still expects to change jobs in the next twelve months" increasing the pressure for companies to invest in and get creative with day-to-day and long-term benefits for employees across all levels. Employee burnout is also the reason behind half of all turnover, according to new research from Kronos. Weebly's co-founders believe a long-term break for growth and exploration will be a benefit for both employees and the company.

"Just like our customers live out their dreams with their businesses, we want to make sure that Weebly employees also have the resources to live out their dreams too," says David Rusenko, CEO and founder of Weebly. "Weebly Wanderlust is designed to help reward the all-star employees who have been with us for a while; it is geared to help you refresh and recharge for the adventure ahead."

Weebly Wanderlust is just one portion of the wellness initiative that Weebly has integrated across the entire company spanning from their San Francisco-based headquarters to their New York City office. Other programs include in-office doctor's visits, exercise classes, a recipes newsletter, and sessions on mindfulness, meditation and how to disconnect from devices.

"The Wanderlust program is about creating a new level of freedom and flexibility," says Dan Veltri, Weebly co-founder and CPO. "You shouldn't feel like your work and your life goals are at odds. Sometimes people think they need to quit in order to take an extended break and explore the world. Instead, we want to encourage you to travel, gain perspective, and grow as a person, ultimately enhancing your connection to our company mission: to help the world's entrepreneurs succeed."

Weebly Wanderlust trips planned include yoga and meditation retreat in the Peruvian Amazon, home swapping in Japan, and cycling through France for a month.
