Prudential names Lucien Alziari chief human resources officer


Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE:PRU) announced Lucien Alziari will join Prudential on June 5 as senior vice president and chief human resources officer, succeeding Sharon Taylor, who has informed the company of her decision to retire after more than 40 years of distinguished service.

Lucien Alziari, a seasoned international executive with more than 30 years' experience in global human resources management, will join Prudential Financial as its chief human resources officer on June 5. Alziari joins Prudential from A.P. Moller-Maersk, the global transportation and energy conglomerate. With more than 30 years of experience as a senior global human resources leader, he is seasoned in the areas of global leadership and talent management, governance and board relations, executive compensation, and organizational and transformatonal change.



Taylor assumed leadership of Corporate Human Resources in 2002, following the company's demutualization and public listing. Under her leadership, the company expanded the breadth, depth and reach of its people-related programs to match Prudential's development into a global company, aligned its corporate social responsibility strategy with business strategy, and elevated its approach to attracting, developing and retaining world-class talent.

Taylor's accomplishments have been recognized in numerous rankings and awards, including the prestigious Corporate Award from the Executive Leadership Council for Prudential's work in diversity and inclusion and corporate social responsibility.

Lucien Alziari

A U.K. citizen, Lucien Alziari is a seasoned international executive with more than 30 years' experience in global human resources management. He has been a chief human resources officer in global companies for 13 years, first at Avon Products, Inc. and then most recently as executive vice president and group chief human resources officer at A.P. Moller-Maersk, based in Denmark. Prior to Avon, Alziari led PepsiCo's widely benchmarked talent management program.

Alziari was inducted into the National Academy of Human Resources in 2011, where he currently serves as a director. He is also a director of C&J Clark International, the international shoe manufacturer and retailer.

Sharon C. Taylor

While at Prudential, Sharon Taylor has held several roles, most recently senior vice president of human resources and chair of The Prudential Foundation. She has been a champion of diversity throughout her career and, while at Prudential, led the expansion of the company's people-related programs, notably establishing its global diversity and inclusion strategy, including the creation of a global talent and succession platform.

Taylor is the immediate past chair of the Newark Alliance and serves on the Executive Committee of the Newark Regional Business Partnership. She is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, the Advisory Board of the National Council of La Raza, and the Human Resources Policy Association. In 2010, Taylor was named a Fellow by the National Academy of Human Resources, the most prestigious honor in the field of human resources. In 2012, she was elected to the Board of Directors of New Jersey Resources. Taylor has twice been named to Black Enterprise's list of Most Powerful Women in Corporate America.
