Industrial Electronic Engineers (IEE) Showcasing Line of Rugged Displays at Quad A Summit

Industrial Electronic Engineers, IEE, manufacturer of rugged displays, will be exhibiting their enhanced video and smart display products for use in avionics applications at the Army Aviation Missions Solutions Summit (Quad A) in Nashville, Tennessee April 26-28th. Focused on bringing the latest display and video processing capabilities to military aircraft, IEE has created a product offering that supports current Open System Architecture (OSA) trends through a portfolio of proven interface capabilities.

"Designed to be installed as either replacement or add-on functions, our display products are architected to minimize the impact on other complex or qualified mission system components," said Steve Motter, Vice-President, Business Development at IEE. "When adding the latest upgraded display features, our customers are careful not to drive costly changes that ripple throughout the avionics system. By offering a combination of backward compatible legacy interfaces alongside the latest technologies, we allow the avionics system architect the ability to optimize the design for the specific application."

IEE is showcasing several new interfaces and processing capabilities:

  • Ethernet based video distribution architectures (e.g. GigE Vision, H.264, H.265)
  • ARINC (News - Alert)-661 Cockpit Display Systems
  • ARINC-818 Avionics Digital Video Bus
  • Traditional Avionics Busses: MIL-STD-1553B, ARINC-429, etc.
  • Video capture and processing for windowing and symbology overlay

IEE also proides solutions for avionic display replacement requirements including Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) replacements and traditional instrumentation. These square aspect form factor displays are available in a wide range of sizes and interface options. IEE's commitment to supporting open systems architecture in avionic display replacement includes:

  • Open Mission Systems (OMS) compliant architecture standards enabling faster integration across systems and platforms
  • Display products in alignment with the Future Airborne Compatibility Environment (FACE™) Technical Standard

IEE is exhibiting in booth #237 at the Quad A Summit, April 26-28th, and will be demonstrating some of the new interface features. Stop by or make an appointment with Steve Motter by calling toll-free 1-800-422-0867, ext. 327, or mailto:[email protected].
