RippleNami a Finalist of Fast Company's 2017 World Changing Ideas Awards

RippleNami, Inc., a provider of a map-based data visualization platform accessed via the cloud, announced today that it has been named a finalist in Fast Company's 2017 World Changing Ideas Awards. The Company was acknowledged in the category of "Developing World Technology."

Fast Company's premiere World Changing Ideas Awards honors businesses, policies, projects, and concepts that offer innovative solutions to the issues facing humanity. All of the finalists will be highlighted in the April issue of the print magazine, which hit newsstands on March 27.

Launched this year, the World Changing Ideas Awards showcase 12 winners and more than 150 finalists. A panel of eminent judges selected winners and finalists from a pool of more than 1,200 entries in 12 categories, from Food to Energy to Developing World Technology. Honorees include big-name brands like GE and Microsoft (News - Alert), nonprofits like Ideo.org and the U.N. World Food Programme, and innovative startups like RippleNami, Beyond Meat, Otto, and Hyperloop One. The 2017 awards featured entries from across the globe, from Pakistan to Brazil to Kenya.

"Fast Company has always insisted that being a orce for good has to be a key element for any business," says Fast Company editor and managing director Robert Safian. "These World Changing Idea award winners and finalists show how organizations around the world are embracing the ideals of creativity and innovation to create enormous impact."

"This is tremendous acknowledgement of RippleNami's first-of-its-kind big data mapping technology that allows users to map and visualize what's important to them in their world," said RippleNami president and CEO Jaye Connolly-LaBelle. "We are honored that the judges saw the difference our technology can bring about to provide unconnected peoples with access to the resources they need to survive and thrive."

RippleNami's founder Phil Gahn added, "RippleNami was founded on the idea that there needs to be a much easier way to visualize any data on a map. With a team that has extensive experience working in developing countries, we realized that many organizations struggle with understanding where water wells, schools, contagious diseases, security issues and other critical information are actually occurring. We have simplified geolocation so anyone - regardless of education - can easily put this information on to a map and then be able to collaborate. Our ability to ingest any kind of data including block chain and map it makes us truly unique."
