IEE Joins The Open Group Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE™) Consortium

IEE, manufacturer of enhanced displays for military applications has become a member of The Open Group FACE™ Consortium, a government and industry partnership to define an open avionics environment for all military airborne platform types.

"As a member of the FACE Consortium, IEE's voice will be heard in the development and maintenance of the standards," commented Steve Motter, Vice President of Business Development for IEE. "In addition, collaborating with other members will increase the depth of our knowledge base for future product development."

The FACE Technical Standard is the open avionics standard for making military computing operations more robust, interoperable, portable and secure. IEE has been developing products in alignment with the FACE™ Technical Standard, including a 6"x8" MFD LCD display that can be used as an avionics platform on almost any aircraft. With the addition of a fiber-based ARINC (News - Alert)-818 interface, the IEE display will support faster, lighter weight video interfacing for increased performance and cost efficient integration.
