Ohio's Head Start Endorses Dr. Chisholm's Leadership of CEOGC

The Council for Economic Opportunities in Greater Cleveland announced today that Ohio Head Start Association, Inc. (OHSAI) informed the agency that it differs with the Cleveland.com March 22 editorial, according to Barbara Haxton, OHSAI executive director, as her organization sees no need for any changes in CEOGC's CEO or its executive team; in fact, the current team has been instrumental in making major positive changes in the work and direction of the agency.

"The work that Dr. Jacklyn Chisholm and her leadership team, including Dr. Thea Wilson who oversees Head Start, has been exactly what the Head Start program needed," said Haxton. "The program has shown remarkable improvement over the short time Dr. Chisholm has been at the helm of the agency, and that includes the five star ratings of Ohio's Step Up to Quality program, for nearly all of the 14 Head Start center locations."

It certainly appears that, "Dr. Chisholm has been the change agent that was needd to fix the organization and she has achieved it by most measures," added Haxton. "In the short time I have worked with Dr. Chisholm she certainly has proven that she has the vision, plan and integrity to lead this vital organization during its next period of transition, which is why she continues to enjoy the full confidence of OHSAI."

CEOGC's Dr. Chisholm remains committed to serving her organization's mission to invest in people, nurture their success and transform lives. "I'm proud of the changes my team has made and the positive impact we've had on the lives of children and families in the short time we've lead our Community Action Agency," said Chisholm. "The job we started is not done, which is why we are committed to seeing the power of change continue at CEOGC."
