TUGG Makes Boston Event to Grant $140,000 to Six Local Non-Profits

TUGG, the non-profit arm of Boston's tech community, today announced details around the organization's TUGG Makes Boston event, the 11th Annual Wine and Tequila Party. The event brings the Boston tech community together to raise funds and support six local startup non-profits to propel social innovation.

TUGG Makes Boston, the 11th Annual Wine and Tequila Party, is the largest party in Boston tech. The newest members of the TUGG family, Mbadika, Tech Goes Home and Media Girls, will be introduced to event-goers alongside current portfolio non-profits First Teacher, Resilient Coders and WeThrive. Attendees will learn about each organization's mission and cast a vote so their favorite non-profit can take home $10,000 - $50,000.

Here are TUGG's newest non-profits:

  • Mbadika provides hardware and engineering workshops for under-resourced youth to inspire young innovators and entrepreneurs;
  • Tech Goes Home is an initiative that brings digital access and basic technology training to underserved families as an entryway to the digital age;
  • Media Girls empowers middle school girls to know their self-worth and to utilize social media to take a stand on meaningful issues.
