VERT Adds Prominent Volleyball Clients With New G-VERT™ Team System Technology

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- VERT, a leader in wearable athletic technology, announces a host of collegiate volleyball programs, including University of Minnesota, University of Florida, University of North Carolina, Marquette University, Ole Miss University, Washington State University, Texas Tech University, Nova Southeastern University, Purdue University, Concordia University and St. Ambrose University as its newest G-VERT™ Team System clients.

These programs will now be able to track and monitor student- athletes with wearable technology to aid in performance tracking and injury prevention. Starting in the 2017 season, each will begin to use G-VERT™ Team System Technology with multi-appendage capabilities. This technology allows coaches and trainers to accurately track jump, kinetic energy, stress percent and intensity load from the player's waistline and on any extremity.

"The G-VERT team system is the first to provide insights on player performance both in game, during practice and in the training room," said David Gil, Performance Lab Director for VERT. "We're excited to work with each of these teams and cllect more information than ever before to protect their players and keep them at their best late into the season."

G-VERT™ performance tracker measures the G-force of every movement including kinetic energy, jump analytics, power, high stress percentage and appendage asymmetry.  G-VERT™ is non-invasive imu (inertial measurement unit) worn on an athlete's waist.  G-VERT™ is small enough to be applied to specific appendages (example: left or right calf) to gather asymmetry and limb specific data.  Measurements are sent in real-time to VERT's proprietary architecture for performance and injury prevention analytics.

The tech company debuted the G-VERT™ Team System two years ago with their first NBA client, the Miami Heat. G-VERT™ Team System is currently being used by several NCAA schools across multiple sports, including two out of the four 2016 NCAA Division I Volleyball Final Four participants. VERT Technology was recently a part of the 2015 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship games as the first wearable of its kind used for in-game play. Using VERTcast, a sports telemetry system broadcasting through live-screen and television newscast, viewers where able to experience student athleticism in real-time during the semi-final and championship games on ESPN 2.
