RowdMap, Inc. speaks at George Washington University Health Workforce Institute Speaker Series

WASHINGTON, March 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Elizabeth Young and Joshua Rosenthal, PhD, of RowdMap, Inc. are featured in the George Washington University's Health Workforce Speaker series. http://bit.ly/2lA6C8B Elizabeth Young and Joshua Rosenthal will be speaking on March 9, 2017 at the Milken Institute School of Public Health in Washington, DC at 12:00pm.

The George Washington University's Health Workforce Speaker series invites nationally renowned speakers to examine new workforce configurations, their outcomes and associated challenges. The goals of the series are to help shape and influence the health workforce policy discussion and to provide networking opportunities.

Elizabeth Young, Director of Analytics, and Joshua Rosenthal, founder and Chief Scientific Officer at RowdMap will discuss how Medicare Public Use Files, along with a variety of additional Public Use Files, can be used to provide strategic insights for health plans, physician groups, and hospital systems looking o provide high-value care.  They will provide background on the currently available datasets and their strengths and limitations with the goal of inspiring new avenues of workforce research.

"These public data sets: Medicare, CDC, Census, etc. when properly tied together, are very powerful tools and it's exciting to see the market take notice of it. Low value care impacts the workforce by needlessly impacting productivity, taking time away from work and taking money out of the pocketbook of the workforce, money which could be otherwise used for food, clothing, shelter, education and other helpful activities," said Elizabeth Young of RowdMap, Inc.

Elizabeth Young's work has been featured by the Department of Health and Human Services at the HHS DataLab, where she has participated in shared presentations and panels with leaders from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information (ONC), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJ). She received a B.A. in Biology and English at the University of Denver where she served as a research assistant at the Eleanor Roosevelt Institute before assessing environmental impact at the Chrysler Group, LLC.  At RowdMap, she is responsible for bringing public, government, and private data together to help both health plans and providers identify, quantify, and reduce Low-Value Care.
