Lake Nona Joins Jiyo's "Smart Cities - Internet of Wellbeing" Platform to Promote Community Health Engagement

Lake Nona, one of the fastest-growing communities in America and a model for the design of a comprehensive, healthy community, today announced it will partner with Jiyo, a comprehensive digital platform recently launched by Dr. Deepak Chopra to address health and wellbeing holistically with residents.

Through the partnership, Lake Nona residents will have exclusive access to a Lake Nona version of the Jiyo platform with customized content focused on five pillars of wellbeing including personal growth, exercise, nutrition, sleep, and relationships, as well as insights from leading experts, including Dr. Chopra.

Jiyo's "Smart Cities" platform will take an integrated approach to using digital technologies to connect Lake Nona residents to information and events that improve health and wellbeing, as well as provide enhanced insights, analytics and support to help promote a higher quality of life among residents in the 17-square-mile integrated, master-designed community in Orlando, Fla. Lake Nona is the second "Smart City" in the U.S.

"Lake Nona has offered us the unique opportunity to create the internet of wellbeing, the global brain for creating a more peaceful, sustainable, healthier and more joyful world," said Jiyo Co-Founder Deepak Chopra, a pioneer in integrative medicine, forerunner of meditation practice and New York Times best-selling author.

Known for its innovative approaches to community health and wellbeing and often called a "living lab," Lake Nona is also the current focus of a longitudinal study by Johnson & Johnson Health & Wellness Solutions known as the Lake Nona Life Project, which aims to better understand how communities work and the factors that lead to better overall health and wellbeing. Last fall, Lake Nona also debuted the first healthy home, WHIT, a wellness home built on innovation and technology.

"Lake Nona has created a really unique environment for companies looking to innovate in the healthcare and wellbeing arenas, which provides our residents with unprecedented opportnities and access to unique events, studies and platforms like Jiyo," said Gloria Caulfield, executive director of the Lake Nona Institute and vice president of strategic alliances at Tavistock Development Company. "We want Lake Nona to be a place where you have every opportunity to be your best self, to perform at your best, and Lake Nona's Jiyo platform will provide our community with another amazing tool to accomplish that."

The announcement was made at the Lake Nona Impact Forum, a three-day symposium where 250 of the nation's top CEOs, health care entrepreneurs and innovators, government officials and other thought leaders discuss and develop solutions to improve health, wellness and sustainable living throughout the world.
