Qumu Adds FocalCast Integration for Enterprise-Grade Recording and Streaming of Collaboration Sessions

Qumu (NASDAQ: QUMU), a leader in enterprise video, today announced direct integration with the FocalCast document cloud platform allowing users to record live multi-user collaboration sessions, training or lectures. With Qumu's new extension, teams not only can record a session but also include their shared whiteboards and documents.

"This is a great example of the power Qumu's enterprise video expertise brings to the unified communications and collaboration market, in which Gartner (News - Alert) projects end user spending will grow from $38.2 billion in 2016 to $43.4 billion in 2020," said Vern Hanzlik, president and CEO of Qumu. (Gartner, 2016)

FocalCast and Qumu enable multi-user collaboration leveraging existing web conferencing, video conferencing and webcasting investments. Users can initiate a Qumu stream or recording from a live FocalCast session with a single button. No downloads or plugins are required. The recording (including audio, video, whiteboard & document stream) is securely stored and centrally managed for searching and viewing by any device. Digital copies of documents/artifacts are captured and tied directly to the recording and immediately shareable. Recordings can be saved to learning management systems (LMS), internal media channels, or corporate directories.

"FocalCast's ability to seamlessly conect a wide variety of devices and document formats is a huge advantage for organizations," said Devin Turner, FocalCast CEO. "We are excited to add Qumu's enterprise-grade streaming and recording capabilities to revolutionize the way we connect and share information around the world."
