Modern Technology Provides a New Solution to the Chore Problem

Generation after generation parents face many of the same challenges when it comes to raising children. Gregg Murset, a father of six, is no exception. When his search for a simple solution to keep track of his kids' chores, reward a weekly allowance, and teach them the basic financial principles of earning, saving, sharing and spending money wisely failed, he created My Job Chart (MJC). Now, one of the most popular online tools for children to learn about work ethics and money is evolving into BusyKid.

Technology has advanced allowing a car to drive itself, a private message to automatically disappear in seconds and money to move from account to account over any mobile device. Technology evolved, families evolved, and so, evolution had to affect My Job Chart too.

BusyKid is the first online chore chart where children can earn, save, share, spend and invest real money wisely. Available on all mobile devices, BusyKid will completely replae My Job Chart by in February and will be easier to use, more robust and allow kids to receive a real allowance from their parents each Friday (Payday). No more points or trying to convert imaginary money.

"It became very clear that My Job Chart needed significant changes in order for us to meet our own high expectations," said Murset, who will be BusyKid CEO. "Plus, technology has finally caught up with our vision, and though nearly 250,000 families have engaged with MJC; sometimes starting over is easier than patching holes. BusyKid is the result of listening to parents, knowing what children need and taking advantage of the same technology so many families use every day."

BusyKid is committed to helping children learn the important basic financial principles they don't get anywhere else. Designed as a platform that is easy for parents to implement, BusyKid features pre-loaded chores based on children's ages and making chore payment approvals is as simple as answering a text message. BusyKid will be the only online chore/allowance platform that allows children to earn allowance (real money) and use it immediately to buy gift cards, make a donation or invest in real stock. BusyKid is only $12 a year for an entire family.

"Real world experience is generally not taught in schools, and many children are so busy focused on building their college application résumés, they spend all their time volunteering and participating in sports instead of working starter jobs," said Murset. "BusyKid gives parents an easy tool to teach children how to manage a bank account, budget a paycheck, invest in stocks and the value of hard work."
