Yewno Appoints New COO for Education


Yewno, a provider of a next generation inference engine technology targeting knowledge discovery, have appointed Franny Lee as Chief Operating Officer, Education to lead the company's education vertical and drive growth of its research application and education market web products. With nearly two decades of experience in the sector and a proven track record of success, Lee's expertise in education, learning technologies, publishing and intellectual property will help Yewno expand its growing focus in the education field.

Lee currently serves as a board director at MIT (News - Alert) Press where she contributes to shaping strategy and growth for the business' future. Most recently, she was a general manager and VP at ProQuest LLC leading the learning technologies team in developing and executing business growth plans and go-to-market strategies. Se is a thought leader in the education community and frequent speaker, teacher and author on topics at the intersection of campus needs, technology, online education, open and digital resources, publishing, and libraries.



Lee's prior experience includes co-founding SIPX, Inc., an edtech software platform grown from interdisciplinary Stanford University research to develop technology solutions for complex copyright issues. At SIPX, she led the work of a team of computer science, business and law faculty, students and researchers, which ultimately spun out and grew as a start-up company until acquisition by ProQuest LLC in 2015.
