iCracked Japan Steams Ahead with Retail Expansion, Adds Nine New Stores Throughout Japan

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Jan. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- iCracked.com, the world's largest network of on-demand smartphone repair technicians, today announced the expansion of its overseas entity, iCracked Japan, with the addition of nine new retail repair storefronts throughout Japan. The expansion comes thirteen months after the opening of the first store in December of 2015 in partnership with Japanese conglomerate Hikari Tsushin.

With four locations in Tokyo, and locations in Osaka, Sapporo, Fukuoka, Kanagawa, Gunma and Nagoya, these premiere storefronts provide customers with immediate, professional smartphone repair for iPhones and iPads. iCracked Japan has trained and equipped iTechs in Japan to uphold the same quality of customer service and repair expertise.

"This joint venture has perfectly combined iCracked's repair expertise with Hikari [Tsushin]'s extensive and prosperous retail experience. We are fortunate to have a partner that not only touts significant market share in serving millions of customers per year, but has worked diligently to build world-class customer experience in localizing the iCracked brand in Japan," said iCracked CEO and co-founder AJ Forsythe.

In the U.S., iCracked has built a network of thousands of certified and expertly-skilled independent professionals in 600 cities. Thes technicians, known as iTechs, are dispatched with the click of a button to respond to on-demand repair requests in their local area. iCracked Japan provides a custom experience built for the transient consumer culture, offering real-time professional repair solutions for customers at retail locations.

"We are honored to have opportunity to help globalize and expand iCracked into the Japanese market. While Apple holds a large percentage of the market in Japan, the overall penetration of smartphones has room to grow, presenting a significant opportunity for us to scale. Our goal is to make iCracked Japan the leading repair service throughout the country," said iCracked Japan CEO, Akihiro Ota.

According to a 2016 study by IDC published on Bloomberg, Apple holds 50 percent of the 36 million strong smartphone market in Japan.
