Sitecore® Unveils Sitecore Commerce at National Retail Federation's Annual Conference (NRF®)

NEW YORK, Jan. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Sitecore®, the global leader in experience management software, today unveiled a new major version of its flagship Sitecore Commerce product, shipping today to global customers.

Sitecore Commerce is the only cloud-enabled software platform that empowers commerce marketers and merchandisers to fully personalize the end-to-end shopping experience. Doing this optimizes business results by reducing cart abandonment, boosting order size, increasing rebuy percentages, and delivering more completed online sales—all because content and commerce are integrated within one platform, the Sitecore Experience Platform™.

"In a world where consumers are mobile and operating in real-time, brands are expected to deliver personalized customer experiences in context across any channel, but are frequently challenged with separate systems like commerce, web content management, and marketing automation systems," said Ryan Donovan, Senior Vice President, Product Management, Sitecore. "Sitecore Commerce solves the problem of the fragmented customer journey, thereby driving better insights and business results."

Unlike other vendors who treat content and commerce as separate systems, Sitecore is unique in that it combines experience, content and commerce in a highly integrated open platform to solve this issue. Customer profiles, data, and interactions are securely tracked, managed, and analyzed through the Experience Platform.

"Many retailers struggle with the challenge of delivering a seamless and personalized customer experience across touchpoints, especially amid a flood of competing technologies with different data sets across a host of new mobile, social and wearable technologies," said Brendan O'Meara, senior director of Worldwide Retail, Microsoft. "By using Sitecore Commerce, companies can deliver a truly end-to-end consumer shopping experience catered to each shopper, resulting in greater customer loyalty and improved business performance."

In addition, Sitecore is natively engineered forAzure Platform as a Service, a unique differentiator among vendors, greatly simplifying the underlying infrastructure and resultant maintenance while providing easier scale-up and scale-out, taking full advantage of Azure's capabilities.

This major release of Sitecore Commerce introduces several innovative enhancements:

  • Full lifecycle order management capabilities, supporting edits, holds, and additions to a customer order to customers at each step of the fulfillment journey
  • Entitlement support for digital products and goods
  • Complex pricing calculations in real time with high availability to increase average order revenue with dynamic and evolving pricing structures
  • Permissions and rules to grant use of a promotion in order to serve up the right promotion at the right time to a specific customer
  • A modernized developer experience with opt-in-complexity based on Microsoft's ASP.NET core framework
  • Path Analyzer and its resultant machine learning capabilities can easily assist conversion rate optimization by showing the most effective paths to purchase
  • Sitecore Commerce fully leverages Sitecore's already powerful mobile story allowing customers to easily build native or responsive Web mCommerce scenarios

Sitecore offers an array of deployment options including cloud and on-premise implementation. Sitecore can be purchased via perpetual or consumption-based licensing.

Andrew Febley, Global Head, Digital Engagement Solutions for EPAM, a global provider of digital omni-commerce solutions, said of the new Sitecore Commerce release, "Sitecore's customer-experience-first approach to commerce is clearly differentiated from a transaction-first approach seen in the past. Commerce delivered in the context of a fully immersive customer experience is a game-changer for customers seeking to further establish and enhance the value of their brands."

Available since July 2014, Sitecore Commerce has been adopted by customers such as Homefashion Group and Pet Supplies Plus among many others for its unmatched native personalization, testing and optimization, and integrated marketing automation as part of the Sitecore Experience Platform.
