Syniverse Appoints Norris Powell as Chief Human Resources Officer

Syniverse today announced it has appointed Norris Powell as its Chief Human Resources Officer to lead the company's employee base of over 2,300. Powell joins the company following the recent retirement of Leigh Hennen who led human resources at Syniverse (News - Alert) for more than 10 years.

"We are pleased to welcome Norris to the Syniverse team, as his more than 20 years of global human resources experience will help to propel the success of our employees and customers," said Steve Gray, President and CEO, Syniverse. "At the same time, we thank Leigh for the substantial impact she's had on Syniverse over the past decade-plus at Syniverse, during which we grew from about 700 employees primarily residing in the U.S. to a global team of over 2,300 employees in 30 countries."

Powell has held a variety of senior positions, including Chief Human Resources Officer at B/E Aerospace, Inc., a company with revenues of over $4 billion and more than 12,000 employees. Most recently he served as Vice Presient of Human Resources at CSM Bakery Solutions, a company with customers in more than 100 countries, annual sales of $3 billion, and an international presence that includes 8,500 employees.

"I'm thrilled to join Syniverse at an exciting time for the future of wireless connectivity, and I look forward to supporting the company's world-class talent on a global basis," said Powell.

Powell is a graduate of De Montfort University and will be based at Syniverse's global headquarters in Tampa, Fla.
