British Airways and ClassPass Launch Flight and Fitness Offers to Help Americans Maintain 2017 New Year's Resolutions

With New Year's resolutions top of mind, British Airways and ClassPass, the monthly subscription service providing access to the world's largest network of boutique fitness studios and gyms, are launching vacation and fitness offers for customers looking to travel more and get healthy in 2017.

A survey of Americans commissioned by British Airways revealed travel and fitness goals proved difficult to achieve in 2016. While almost 30 percent resolved to travel more last year, about 1 in 3 of them did not meet their goals. Of the 61 percent who wanted to get healthy, more than half broke their resolutions. Regardless of the goal, about 60 percent said on average they stop making progress on their resolutions after three months or less. Only 8 percent said they keep their resolutions all year.

To help customers satisfy their New Year's travel resolutions, British Airways is offering great package deals with flights plus five nights hotel* from all US gateways with travel to London and select European cities. Packages for travel from New York JFK to London start from $689 per person inclusive of taxes, fees and carrier charges, including roundtrip World Traveller economy airfare and five nights at the Tune Hotel, Paddington.

Packages from New York to Paris start from $699, including roundtrip World Traveller economy airfare and five nights at the Pavillon Monceau. Similar package deals are also available from all other US British Airways gateways to London, Paris, Rome, and Barcelona with a wide selection of curated hotels.

Packages are available to book through January 24, 2017, for travel in February 2017. Travel from March 24 - November 30, 2017 is available at varied prices. Flight plus car rental packages are also available in the UK and Europe with up to 25% off European car rental. Visit ba.com for full offer details.

British Airways customers new to ClassPass can redeem an offer for 70 percent off the first month of any of their fitness plans available from select British Airways US gateway cities. ClassPass members can book fitness classes when they travel in any of the brand's 39 cities worldwide - including London - meaning travelers can maintain their fitness goals on the go. Simon Brooks, British Airways' senior vice president North America, said "What better way to start off the New Year than to plan a trip to Europe and experience great culture, world class entertainment and terrific shopping. And with the strength of the dollar your money will go further, so there's never been a better time to visit for those with resolutions to travel more and save this year."

This is the first time ClassPass has worked with an airline on a membership offer, which will help ease a common pain point among travelers. According to the survey, 66 percent of Americans strive to be healthier while traveling.

The survey also found that Americans have high workout goals this year and look to emulate their favorite celebrities' features. For the respondents with celebrity workout goals, these celebs topped the charts:

Top US female celebrities: Jennifer Aniston's arms (20 percent), Michelle Obama's arms (20 percent)

Top US male celebrities: Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson's legs (27 percent), Mark Wahlberg's abs (20 percent)

Top British female celebrities: Victoria Beckham's abs (40 percent), Kate Winslet's bum (13 percent)

Top British male celebrities: Daniel Craig's abs (36 percent), David Beckham's legs (22 percent)
