Greenwave Systems and VTech Partner to Expand Connected Ecosystems Powered By DSP Group's ULE TechnologyThe three companies will introduce award-winning IoT technology to Accelerate ULE-IoT Deployments
SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 05, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DSP Group, a leading global provider of wireless chipset solutions for converged communications, Greenwave Systems, the global Internet of Things (IoT) software and managed services leader, and VTech, the world’s leading manufacturer of cordless phones and electronic learning products, today announced a partnership to advance VTech connected home products by licensing Greenwave’s sensor technology. The solution will be based on DSP Group’s Ultra Low Energy (ULE) offering. The collaboration further emphasizes the companies’ dedication to creating flexible networks that are scalable, secure and promote interoperability, in order to facilitate the best-connected experience in the home or enterprise ecosystem. “We’re excited to collaborate with two such market leaders to deliver best-in-class IoT solutions. By leveraging Greenwave’s expertise and award-winning IoT management system and VTech’s superb ULE wireless monitoring sensors we are well-positioned to further expand our portfolio of partners and customers. Together we are truly shaping the future of IoT solutions using our proven ULE and DECT technologies,” said Ofer Elyakim, CEO of DSP Group. “ULE has proven itself to be the technology of choice for IoT solutions at home and a unifying force in the home automation market.” DSP Group’s ULE portfolio offers the most advanced IoT technology with key attributes such as interference-free bands, outstanding range, lower power consumption, robust and secure RF channels, dual 2-way voice, audio and video over the air. Based on a simple star topology, ULE requires fewer device nodes to provide the same servic compared with other mesh network technologies, thereby reducing total cost of ownership (TCO) for system, deployment and maintenance. “We’re committed to advancing usability in the connected space and helping our customers produce comprehensive, interoperable IoT experiences,” said Martin Manniche, founder and CEO at Greenwave Systems. “Benefiting from their ULE and DECT expertise, we’re excited to team up with VTech and DSP Group to bolster their IoT offerings for faster deployment and a robust extensible platform.” VTech provides a broad range of ULE connected devices that homeowners can use to monitor and control their homes. With its motion sensors and other IoT devices, VTech is extending its connected network to a greater ecosystem of smart devices. “The success of smart environments depends on a harmonious network where devices work together seamlessly and securely,” said C.H. Tong, President of VTech Telecommunications Limited. “Partnering with Greenwave and leveraging DSP Group’s ULE technology allow us to achieve this while offering the ability to scale to demand. We are happy to collaborate on our connected sensors and look forward to the advancements we’ll make together.” The technology licensed is part of Greenwave’s AXON Platform® which offers telcos, cable operators, manufacturers and energy companies a comprehensive horizontal framework. This framework can quickly accommodate network demands such as adding new devices, communication standards or services, and report actionable data insights back to users via real-time visual analytics. The AXON Platform serves as a universal translator, uniting various standards (such as ULE) working together seamlessly and securely to enable providers in IoT solutions for Industrial, Commercial and Consumer IoT use-cases. DSP Group, VTech and Greenwave Systems will showcase these and other offerings at the 2017 Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas, January 5-8, 2017 in the ULE Alliance Pavilion located in the Sands Expo as well as the DSP Group demonstration room in the Marriott Courtyard Hotel (by appointment), and Greenwave’s suite in the Venetian (by appointment).
