Indegy Caps Breakthrough Year with 2016 IoT Innovator Award for Industrial Network Security

Indegy, the industrial cyber security company, today announced that it has received the 2016 IoT Innovator Award for industrial network security, which honors the best Internet of Things businesses and individuals across the globe. This honor is the latest in a string of industry awards the company has earned since coming to market earlier this year. Indegy also announced today that retired Four Star General and CIA Director David Petraeus has joined the company as an investor.

"Industrial infrastructure is an attractive target for those conducting cyber operations; hence, protection of industrial control systems (ICS) is a significant national security concern," said former CIA Director, General (Ret.) David Petraeus. "I am very impressed by Indegy's approach and by its technology, which is unique in its ability to monitor the most critical devices in ICS ecosystems. The level of visibility and control Indegy provides is exactly what's needed to protect our energy, water, manufacturing, and other critical infrastructure systems."

In just 12 months, Indegy has signed customers in the US, Europe and Israel in the utilities (power, gas, water), pharmaceutical, automotive, petrochemical and manufacturing sectors. The company has doubled in size and raised an additional $12M in venture capital financing. In addition to the IoT Innovator Award, Indegy has received the following accolads:

  • Government Security News Homeland Security Award for Best Industrial Cybersecurity Solution
  • Homeland Security Today Award for Best Cyber Critical Infrastructure Solution
  • Cyber Defense Magazine Best ICS/SCADA Security Solution
  • TiE50 Winner 2016
  • A 10 Most Promising Cyber Security Startup by Forbes Israel
  • Network World (News - Alert) Hot Security Startup to Watch

"2016 has been an extremely successful first year for Indegy on several fronts, including customer acquisition, financing, marketing and corporate development," said Barak Perelman, CEO of Indegy. "This latest award caps several honors we have received over the past 12 months which have recognized the innovation we are bringing to industrial cyber security. Adding General Petraeus as an investor is a very gratifying way to finish the year. We are looking forward to an even better 2017."

Indegy has developed the first cyber security platform that protects Industrial Control Systems (ICS) used in critical infrastructures, utilities and manufacturing industries, by providing comprehensive visibility into the control-plane engineering activities performed in operational technology networks. It automatically discovers all controllers (PLCs, RTUs, DCSs) on ICS networks and routinely validates their integrity ensuring no unauthorized changes go undetected. By detecting and alerting in real-time on unauthorized access and changes made to controllers, it can identify threats that place the safety, reliability and security of industrial networks at risk.
