Mediacom Communications Expands Deployment of Casa Systems C100G CCAP Preparing Its Broadband Network to be Gigabit-Ready by Year-EndANDOVER, Mass., Dec. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Casa Systems, a worldwide leader in next generation fixed, wireless and Wi-Fi access networks, today announced that Mediacom Communications, the 5th largest cable operator in the U.S., expanded its deployment of Casa's forward-engineered C100G Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP) in support of a company-wide initiative to make its entire broadband network gigabit-capable by the end of 2016. Mediacom provides internet, video and phone services to over 1.3 million residential and business customers across 22 states. In 2015, Mediacom successfully deployed Casa's C100G in its Columbia and Jefferson City, Missouri markets to boost network capacity and ensure fast, flawless access for subscribers. With the additional C100G deployments within its footprint, Mediacom has been able to quickly and cost-effectively convert to DOCSIS® 3.1 and is poised to make its entire broadband network service area gigabit-ready by the end of 2016. Providers can also evolve to a distributed access architecture (DAA) using the existing C100G and just one new card in the CCAP core.
