IaaS Hosting Provider 3W Infra Launches Dell-Powered Dedicated Server Package for High Performance Cloud Infrastructure

3W Infra, a fast-growing Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider with a global customer base and more than 3,000 dedicated servers under management, announces the release of a dedicated server package with high-performance computing (HPC) features. Powered by Dell PowerEdge R430 servers, the new dedicated server plans are highly customizable and especially aimed at cloud customers with architectures for low latency and high throughput requirements.

Delivering peak 2-socket performance, the Dell PowerEdge R430 server provides 3W Infra’s new dedicated server package with the power required by demanding cloud environments with high-performance computing (HPC) workloads.

According to 3W Infra’s experienced engineers, who tested these dedicated servers thoroughly prior to launching the new hosting package, Dell PowerEdge R430 servers with Dual-CPU processing power deliver true high-performance computing. This would make these dedicated server plans an excellent fit for cloud-based HPC and business use cases such as forex trading, big data, online gaming, as well as mission-critical databases and applications.

Minecraft, World of Warcraft “Playing Minecraft, League of Legends or World of Warcraft online can be an awesome experience, but only when the underlying hosting infrastructure meets the player’s gaming expectations,” said Roy Premchand, Commercial Director of 3W Infra. “The same accounts for I/O or CPU intensive tasks such as data analytics, as well as high-frequency trading where the underlying hosting infrastructure is decisive for a successful outcome. Dell R430 servers offer excellent performance, yet cost-effective while able to scale in case of evolving business needs.” The new dedicated servers are housed in 3W Infra’s flagship data center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. At the heart of one of the most interconnected Internet junctions in the world, located in the Amsterdam Zuidoost business district close to the Amsterdam financial district ‘Zuidas’, this data center is ISO 27001 certified while featuring Tier 4 specifications.

160Gbps Global Network The dedicated servers come with a dedicated uplink (up to 20 Gbps) to 3W Infra’s high-volume global network with a total bandwidth capacity of currently 160Gbps. As 3W Infra’s network bandwidth capacity intentionally equals twice the average bandwidth usage, the new 3W Infra dedicated server package features high-scalability options.

“Also, reliability and speed are essential features for these high-performance dedicated servers,” added Mr. Premchand. “To ensure reliability and speed, 3W Infra’s global network doesn’t have any peering arrangement in place. Instead, we’ve established a transit-only, multi-carrier network which takes robustness of the network to the next level. This blend of Tier 1 backbone providers, with an extensive network of PoPs across the globe, provides 3W Infra with an efficient and powerful network capable of meeting customers’ high-performance requirements. Our transit-only network policy also ensures that SLAs are consistently met.” “Our data center is centrally located in Europe, adjacent to the AMS-IX and close to the financial districts of Amsterdam, London and Frankfurt, enabling lighting fast trade execution and negligible latency,” added Mr. Premchand. “The data center location and connectivity options combined with high-performance hardware features, make these servers a natural fit for forex trading and online gaming purposes, amongst other HPC use cases.” Dedicated Server Specs The new 3W Infra dedicated server packages feature a wide variety of options to choose from. Key features of these dedicated servers aimed at HPC use cases include: • 2x Intel’s 10-Core E5-2630v4 CPU • Up to 384GB DDR4 RAM • Up to 4x SATA/SAS/SSD HDD • PERC H730 RAID Controller • 1GB Cache • Up to 20Gbps dedicated uplink to 3W Infra’s high bandwidth (160Gbps) global network • Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC8 Enterprise) • Operating Systems: CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, BSD, VMware ESXi, or?Windows 2012 “Normally, with 3W Infra, customers are able to choose whichever hardware brand they like,” added Mr. Premchand. “It exemplifies what we stand for as a company, as we want to provide our customers with ultimate choice options. This Dell-powered dedicated server package however is aimed at customers who prefer some level of preparation when it comes to choosing their HPC dedicated server specifications. As we greatly value freedom of choice, also within these plans, there are still lots and lots of customer-specific options to choose from.” About 3W Infra Founded in 2014 by some Internet and hosting industry veterans, 3W Infra is a pure-play Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) hosting provider headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
