Vedicis Delivers Data Traffic Visibility to Telecom Operators and Deploys First Projects with Hewlett Packard EnterpriseVedicis, a leading software editor of DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) and PCEF (Policy and Charging Enforcement Function) platforms, announces today the signature of an OEM agreement to provide their software DPI data probe, the Smart Traffic Collector, to Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). The first projects already deployed with Vedicis platform, enhances HPE Dragon with further DPI capabilities to help telecom operators to access to network traffic intelligence and marketing insight about subscriber's experience and Internet usage. Telecom Operators need to get the right level of visibility on types of data traffic per subscriber, with additional contextual information such as device or locations: this is now critical to launch valuable telecom analytics and "Big Data" projects aiming at improving subscribers' quality of experience and creating new data services. At the same time, the demand to streamline the costs and ensure ROI is on the rise to ensure viable "Big Data" projects. "We are very excited by this new partnership with HPE. The initial projects that we have already won prove the appetite of mobile and fixed operators for flexible and optimized software DPI probes" says Theodore Martin Martin, Veicis CEO. The Vedicis Smart Traffic Collector, embedded in HPE Dragon, meets requirements of IP Network. With a strong DPI analysis and efficient processing, it provides data correlation and aggregation between signalling and data, and configurable data records for real time and on demand analytics. The combined solution uses a Linux software architecture and is available on physical hardware servers, such as the HPE Proliant DL380G9, and also as Virtual Network Function (VNF) for NFV deployments "Vedicis arms our HPE Dragon product with enhanced DPI probing capabilities", said Ken Marchant, worldwide director of actionable customer intelligence (ACI) in HPE's Communications Solutions Business. "Its configurability and aggregation features allow us to focus on the most relevant and valuable data while limiting the extraction of redundant information".
