Sustainability Report Highlights Canon's Commitment to the Environment and SocietyMELVILLE, N.Y., Sept. 30, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Highlighting the company's approach towards creating a sustainable global society, Canon Inc., the parent company of Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, released its annual Sustainability Report. For 2015, Canon exceeded its goal of a 3 percent lifecycle CO2 emissions improvement index per product 1 over 2014 figures through efforts to make products more compact, lightweight, and energy efficient, as well as through improved efficiencies during manufacturing and transportation. The Company has also been recognized with multiple awards for its corporate environmental sustainability efforts. The Sustainability Report highlights the environmental achievements of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C3300 Series of A3 color multifunction devices, which were developed with the goal of reducing energy costs and CO2 emissions as compared with previous imageRUNNER ADVANCE models. The imageRUNNER ADVANCE C3300 Series reduces CO2 emissions compared to previous imageRUNNER ADVANCE models by incorporating bio-based plastics and recycled materials on certain exterior parts, and by designing housing parts that use fewer resources. Combined with energy consumption that's among the lowest in its product category, the lifecycle CO2 emissions of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C3300 Series have been reduced by approximately 23 percent as compared with previous models.
