SamKnows analysis attests to the quality of Cogeco's Internet services

MONTREAL, Sept. 29, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Following the dissemination, by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), of the comprehensive analysis by SamKnows of broadband services sold by leading Canadian suppliers, Cogeco Connexion was delighted to note the level of performance posted by its Internet services and salutes the CRTC's initiative. This analysis is based on results compiled from 4,808 households that agreed to be connected to a "Whitebox", a device that made it possible to collect data between March 5 and April 14.

"We are quite pleased with the results of this report, which confirm the reliability of services provided by Cogeco, as well as the power of our hybrid network and the level of performance it allows us to deliver to our customers," stated Michel Blais, Vice-President, Engineering and Operations, Cogeco Connexion.

According to the SamKnows analysis, Cogeco posted performance levels exceeding 100% in upload and download speeds during peak and regular hours, as well as excellent web page downloading times, i.e. 0.9 seconds, a level of performance superior to that posted by the category of suppliers that are offering fibre to the home.

"We salute the initiative of the CRTC. It confirms to Cogeco clients the quality of the Internet services they enjoy and which we make available to them, as we pursue our commiment to peerless customer service and a flexible offering that meets their needs," stated Daniel Boisvert, Vice-President, Marketing and Innovation, Cogeco Connexion.
