Pioneer Cellular Works with TNS to Establish LTE Roaming Network

Pioneer Cellular is significantly expanding its LTE (News - Alert) coverage and offering new 4G roaming opportunities to subscribers, thanks to a multi-faceted agreement with telecommunications specialist Transaction Network Services (TNS (News - Alert)).

The deal will see Pioneer Cellular join the TNS LTE Roaming Hub, gaining access to a large, seamless footprint that extends across the US and many international areas including Europe and the Asia Pacific region.

TNS is also providing Pioneer Cellular with a range of professional services, including vital network monitoring capabilities, which will ensure full integration between the TNS LTE Roaming Hub and Pioneer's domestic core as well as optimize performance.

Jerry Kadavy, VP of Network Operations at Pioneer Cellular, said: "We are excited to be expanding our LTE service to subscribers. Working with TNS is a highly efficient and effective way of accessing and managing relationships with multiple carrier networks."

"TNS has been a trusted supplier for many years, helping us strengthen our CDMA business with TNS' proven technology and talented team. In addition to the subscriber benefits, joining TNS' LTE Roaming Hub positions us to gain inbound roaming revenues from a wider array of carriers, including many non-traditional roaming partners we have not supported previously."

As well as connections between members, TNS' LTE Roaming Hub provides access to the CCA Data Services Hub which is powered by TNS.

Joe Lueckenhoff, Execuive Vice President and General Manager of TNS' Telecommunication Services Division, said: "Pioneer Cellular is taking a significant strategic step in developing its LTE network, and we're very pleased that they have chosen TNS to help with this evolution. We have a close working relationship with their team and look forward to continuing to support them as they enter this next chapter of their business."

"Existing members of the TNS LTE Roaming Hub and the CCA Data Services Hub will also welcome the addition of Pioneer Cellular and the new inbound roaming revenue opportunities this creates."

From small rural operators in the U.S. to the largest multi-national carriers, TNS has over 500 operator customers and addresses the full needs of wireless and wireline operators in the US and globally.
