Dose Hires Former Buzzfeed and Elite Daily Execs to Grow Sales and Video Teams

NEW YORK, Aug. 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/-- Dose today announced two new hires to their executive team, Terry City and Weston Green, who will play leadership roles for Brand Partnerships and Dose's Video department, respectively. The new hires come at a time of rapid growth for Dose, one of the fastest growing digital media publishers. On the heels of a $25M funding from Tribune Media, Dose, the company behind Dose.com, OMG Facts, and more, has over 30 million monthly visitors, 30 million social followers and is a leading source of news and entertainment that educates, entertains, and inspires.

City will take on the role of Senior Vice President of Brand Partnerships-West at Dose, bringing a wealth of experience from the sales and brands industry. Starting in the entertainment space with Variety, City held positions at Hollywood Reporter, Yahoo!, and The Huffington Post, where he was the executive director of entertainment. City then went on to become the first VP for Buzzfeed on the West Coast, where he managed sales and strategy and developed go-to market strategy for entertainment, as well as autos, CPG, and technology categories. At Dose, City will lead the sales and branding side and work to grow branded content with Green on the video department.

Green is the new Vice President f Video at Dose and is creating Dose Studios, a laboratory designed to bring together the best digital storytellers and empower them to make videos and other media they personally want to see and share. After interning at Funny or Die, Green became one of the original members of the video team at Bleacher Report and after being acquired by Turner Broadcasting in 2012, became the Senior Creative Producer of Branded Content.  Following his experience there, he went on to build the video department at Elite Daily and ultimately held the title of VP of Video after winning an Emmy for the department and being acquired by Daily Mail in 2015. Most recently, he was Creative Director at Cut before joining Dose.

"Existing trending content is repetitive and oversaturated, our growing team is hard at work ideating how to create thumb stopping video that's unlike anything else out there," said Green. "I'm looking forward to building a new digital studio focused on storytelling and filmmaking which myself, my team, and our audience find worth sharing through Dose. Along with building this studio, I'm excited to be hands-on writing and directing narratives built on emotion and experience."

City and Green are excited about the opportunities that working for startup Dose will provide, impressed with the people and culture at the company and their ability to reach younger audiences on the social platforms in which they live. The pair is especially excited about the new opportunities Dose brings to brands, and are looking forward to helping change the game from a branded perspective. "Dose has its fingers on the pulse of data optimization, which puts us in a prime position to build content for brands at a rapid rate," City said. "Dose will be the solution for brands as they become more and more frustrated with boundaries being set by publishers with their formulaic formats."
