Mr. Sanzo has almost 30 years' experience in the wireless sector, having begun his career with NASA in 1989, and gone on to serve with Lucent Technologies as managing vice president from 1995 to 2001. He has led the deployment and operation of networks in multiple countries around the world, including Saudi Arabia, China, Australia, and the United States. In his new role, he will oversee network deployment and operations for Rivada Networks. Joe will also serve as Chief Network Officer of Rivada Mercury, the company formed by Rivada and its partners to bid for the contract to build, operate, maintain and sustain the nationwide public-safety broadband network for FirstNet.

Rivada'sOpen Access Wireless Marketplace allows bandwidth to be bought, sold, and traded at the wholesale level, lowering barriers to entry into wireless and ensuring that no mobile network capacity is wasted. Rivada's efficient, transparent approach is made possible by the company's patented Dynamic Spectrum (News - Alert) Arbitrage (DSA) technology, which allows buyers to acquire wireless bandwidth for a specific period of time in a specific location.

Commenting on the appointment, Rivada Networks Executive Chairman and Co-CEO Declan Ganley said:

"We are very pleased that Joe has joined us. Joe is somebody of immense stature in the wireless industry, whose long career and record of achievement speaks for itself. As we prepare ourselves for the historic task of building America's first dedicated, purpose-built, and secure public safety wireless network, we are very happy to have Joe on our team. He has shown throughout his career, in multiple environments around the world, that he is a person of considerable talent and determination. I look forward to working with him in the years ahead."

Joseph Sanzo said:

"Rivada's vision for a wholesale network that turns mobile spectrum bandwidth into a tradable commodity will, I believe, transform the telecommunications industry as we know it today. The situation today, which sees demand increasing exponentially, requires new solutions, and what Rivada has pioneered is visionary. I am excited to be part of what I believe will be a defining chapter in the evolution of the wireless space. I am particularly pleased to be joining such a great team, under Declan's and Joe Euteneuer's proven leadership, and I look forward to working closely with my colleagues in the months and years to come.

"As for being part of Rivada's FirstNet team, I am truly inspired by the talented and dedicated group of individuals Rivada has brought together to deploy and operate our nation's first nationwide first responders' network. Our first responders deserve the very best solution for critical communications. With Rivada they will receive a purpose-built network, dedicated to their needs."
