Allegiance Mobile Health Adds Larry Johnson as Vice President of Clinical and Mobile Integrated Health Research

Today, Allegiance Mobile Health, the largest private Texas-based provider of medical transportation and 911 emergency services, announced that Larry Johnson is joining the team as vice president of clinical and mobile integrated health (MIH) research. In this role, Johnson will launch Allegiance's (News - Alert) new clinical and MIH research organization, which aims to achieve clinical excellence and improve patient care through evidence-based medical best practices. Johnson will also revise and develop EMT and paramedic training programs to elevate Allegiance's field personnel to the highest clinical standards in the industry to continually provide better health care and outcomes for our patients.

Johnson is an accomplished health care manager and a national registered paramedic with nearly four decades of experience in pre-hospital care and emergency medical services. In addition to his responsibilities as vice president of clinical and mobile integrated health research at Allegiance, Johnson will retain his position of adjunct faculty with the University of Nevada School of Medicine Pre-hospital and Disaster Fellowship, where he taught thousands of EMTs, paramedics, advanced practice paramedics, and physicians.

Under Johnson's leadership, Allegiance's dedicated Clinical and MIH Research organization will have an Education Division with EMT courses, NREMT refresher courses, AHA Training Center, NAEMT Training Center, Critical Care Transport certification in conjunction with the University of Nevada, as well as EM courses, and first-of-its-kind Mobile Integrated Health courses along with a Research Division to develop and publish case studies in order to improve Allegiance's patient care through the use of data, including outcome data from participating hospitals. Furthermore, Johnson's addition allows Allegiance to have unique board-certified programs through his affiliation with the Nevada School of Medicine. Allegiance will be able to expand its capacity to provide critical care in the field through the use of state-of-the-art monitors, ventilators, IV pumps, and power stretchers.

"I look forward to teaming up again with Larry to bring an Advanced Critical Care Transport Academy to Allegiance," said Dr. Bryan Bledsoe, Corporate Medical director of Allegiance. "Adding Larry to lead our Clinical and MIH Research Division enables us to quickly elevate the training level of our field team, as can be seen in the Critical Care Transport curriculum Larry has produced. Now, Allegiance can truly define what evidence-based research and training to deliver clinical excellence in patient care means to the EMS industry."

Allegiance uses state-of-the-art technologies to get outcome data for the patients they deliver to participating hospitals. Johnson is developing customized training programs based on trends in the clinical environments for specific regional areas. For example, if Allegiance sees an increase in stroke patients in a specific geographic area, the new employee orientation and continuing education classes will be expanded to cover additional identification and treatment protocols for these patients that will now have the opportunity to dramatically improve their outcome.

"I'm thrilled to be joining the Allegiance team," said Johnson. "I've dedicated my entire career to building clinical excellence in pre-hospital care. Allegiance is leading the entire industry to higher standards. It's great to be a part of and committed to such an honorable cause."

Operating 300+ vehicles spanning the state of Texas, Allegiance responds to over 250,000 requests for service annually and services a population of more than 15 million residents. For more information on Allegiance Mobile Health, please visit www.allmh.com.
