ONUG Fall to Highlight Vision for the Future of IT as Defined by IT ExecutivesThe Open Networking User Group (ONUG) today announced ONUG Fall 2016 will be hosted by FedEx at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City on October 24th and 25th. The fall conference will showcase input from leading IT executives on industry direction and their vision for open infrastructure in 2020. The event will also highlight the progress made by the new open IT framework initiatives set forth at ONUG Spring 2016. "IT, and especially networking, will be redefined through the eyes of IT leaders on the front lines," said Nick Lippis, Co-Chairman and Co-Founder of ONUG. "The explosion of SD-WAN was a direct result of IT executive input that took place at ONUG in 2013. Since that time, the issues driving the industry toward a software-defined world have expanded significantly thanks to ONUG's commitment to facilitate open dialogue between IT business leaders, solutions providers, cloud/service providers, and standards and open source communities. Exclusive videos featuring CTOs and CIOs from a wide range of industries will illustrate a vision for the future of IT as defined by IT business leaders. These will be a highlight of the fall event and I am excited to share the invaluable insights with the ONUG Community." Announced at the spring event, the newly formed ONUG Open IT Framework Industry Initiatives capture working group member requirements and facilitate the development of corresponding solutions. ONUG Working Groups and Open IT Framework Initiative Workshops, taking place this summer and fall, will continue to drive the open industry narrative. Results of the initiatives and new ONUG Working Group output will be highlighted at the fall conference. "The information sharing that takes place within the ONUG Community is key to facilitating greater choice for IT business leaders," said Gene Sun, Vice President Global Network and Communication Services, FedEx. "We support ONUG's objective to facilitate a dialogue on emerging industry trends, best practices, and challenges, and are delighted to host ONUG Fall 2016 in New York."
The ONUG Fall Conference will feature: ONUG Fall 2016 registration is now open, with early bird pricing available until September 2nd.
