Axtel Completes Acquisition of 100% of Estratel


Axtel (News - Alert), S.A.B. de C.V. (BMV: AXTELCPO) ("Axtel" or the "Company"), a Mexican information and communications technology company announced yesterday the acquisition of the remaining 49 percent of Estrategias en Tecnología Corporativa S.A. de C.V. ("Estratel"), a Mexican firm specialized in the integration of IT solutions for government and enterprise customers.

The Company mentioned that Alestra (News - Alert) S. de R.L. de C.V. ("Alestra") acquired 51 percent of Estratel in May 2015 to boost its IT and communications solutions in the western, Bajío and southeastern regions of the country. Now, the Company decided to acquire the remaining 49 percent as a relevant step in the consolidation of its portfolio of solutions.

Axtel highlighted that Estratel generates annual revenues of 250 million pesos, has presence in the cities of Guadalajara, Querétaro, Mérida, Campeche, Chetumal, México City and Monterrey and has a specialized team of more than 100 employees. Estratel financial results were already included in the consolidated financial information of Axtel given the 51% participation already owned.

Axtel informed that Elvia González Hernández will be Estratel's Director, reporting directly to Adrián Cuadros Gutiérrez, Executive Director of Commercial IT Solutions.

The Company also noted that Estratel will retain its brand and will remain indepndent in its commercial operations, although strengthened with the capabilities of Axtel's fiber optic network, the most advanced Data and Operations Centers in the market, and portfolio of solutions to serve, in conjunction with the Alestra commercial brand, the enterprise and government segments.
