MobileIron First to Receive Common Criteria Certification for Mobile Device Management Protection Profile V2MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- MobileIron (NASDAQ: MOBL), the stand-alone EMM leader, today announced that it has become the first company in the world to receive Common Criteria certification against Version 2.0 of the Mobile Device Management Protection Profile (MDMPP V2.0 and MDMPP Agent V2.0) from the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP). NIAP is the United States government initiative, operated by the National Security Agency (NSA), that oversees the national program to evaluate technology products for conformance to Common Criteria. Common Criteria evaluations involve extensive and rigorous testing of the security aspects of a product or system. MDMPP Agent V2.0 describes security requirements for MDM Agents to address a range of security threats including theft of sensitive data, unauthorized access to malicious applications, network attacks, network eavesdropping, and physical access. Common Criteria is an internationally recognized set of guidelines (ISO/IEC 15408) used by governments, banks, and other organizations to assess the security capabilities of technology products. Protection Profiles provide the specific evaluation criteria used for certification under Common Criteria. This certification gives enterprises visibility and confidence in the security of technology products.
