LANDESK Executive Tom Davis Named Among Utah Business' CXOs of the Year

LANDESK, the global leader in user-centered IT management, today announced that Tom Davis, LANDESK's chief technology officer and executive vice president, was chosen as one of Utah Business' CXOs of the Year. This award honors Davis' considerable vision and dedication in transforming information technology.

Each year, Utah Business recognizes Utah's technology and business leaders who are making significant contributions to their organizations and fields. This year's list of honorees includes a selection of technology gurus and business masterminds active in guiding the technology industry. As a vital member of LANDESK's executive team, Davis runs a global and diverse team of engineers focused on revolutionizing IT management.

"Tom Davis deserves this prestigious honor for more reasons than I can name," said Steve Daly, CEO of LANDESK. "As a truly invaluable part of our organization, he is willing to take risks and is a fantastic leader because he inspires his team to do their best work. His deep and genuine concern for the well-being of his employees also helps us retain top enginering talent as they build loyalty to him."

In his nearly five years at LANDESK, Davis has helped successfully acquire seven companies that expanded LANDESK from primarily a Utah-based company to a global organization spanning four continents. During the acquisition process, Davis analyzes and evaluates target companies to mark them fit or unfit for acquisition through thorough technical diligence. Davis has maintained LANDESK's profitability targets while reducing costs and improving quality and efficiency. Under his leadership, 94 percent of releases have shipped on schedule and the defect rate has dropped 65 percent, among other impressive metrics.

Through his unmitigated vision and leadership, Davis has reorganized the architecture of LANDESK products and created a cohesive strategy to drive a common software platform instead of LANDESK essentially becoming a holding company of disparate technologies.

Davis will be recognized with the other winners of CXO of the Year at an awards ceremony and luncheon held Thursday, June 30 at The Grand America in Salt Lake City. He will also be featured in Utah Business magazine's June 2016 issue.
