Journey Re Boston Selects Two Teams to Participate in the Hannover Re Entrepreneurial CompetitionJourney Re Boston has selected the six competitors to represent the two US teams for Journey Re. Journey Re, an initiative of Hannover Re, is a global entrepreneurial competition. The goal of this initiative is to develop disruptive ideas in the Reinsurance/Insurance industry. Hannover Re US' Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Curt Hagelman, stated, "After an exciting kickoff event last April, we held a challenging workshop which yielded a remarkable group of entrepreneurs with exciting disruptive ideas for the Reinsurance and Insurance industries. Selecting the final six competitors for the Boston team was difficult as the finalists were all strong candidates." The team members joining Boston Journey Re have diverse backgrounds which include not only actuarial science and insurance, but also, management consulting, Fintech, coding, big data analytics, product development and mathematics. These participants have degrees or are pursuing degrees from Harvard Business School, Yale, Babson Colege, Boston University, and Suffolk University. Congratulations to Mohib Hassan, YoonJu Kim, Vincent Lepore, Kunal Lunawat, Joshua Scholten and Krystin Stafford. The two Boston Journey Re teams will compete against the other six Journey Re Teams hailing from three different regions: Berlin, Germany; Dublin, Ireland; and Johannesburg, South Africa. The finalists will be selected by an executive group in Hannover, Germany, and announced in December.
