The TU-Automotive Awards are the most prestigious and anticipated awards in the connected car industry. The glamorous ceremony aims to gather the leading minds of the connected car industry to highlight innovation and quality.

With 10 categories designed to highlight established and emerging companies, this year's TU-Automotive Awards attracted nominations from all over the world. These awards recognize the leaders pushing the industry forward through innovation, industry engagement and quality products and services.

This year's finalists were a who's who in the automotive industry, including: BMW, Ford Motor Company, Volvo, TomTom, RSA, Delphi, NXP, Verizon (News - Alert).

Aerolink is the industry-leading and now award-winning implementation of high speed communications security for connected vehicles based on the IEEE (News - Alert) 1609.2 standard. First deployed in 2007, Aerolink has been continually evolving in parallel with the evolving standards, to remain the most up-to-date implementation of message authentication and user privacy for the Connected Vehicle system.

Aerolink has been selected to provide security and privacy for the 2017 Cadillac CTS (News - Alert), the first commercially available vehicle with V2V capabilities. Among other early adopters, Renesas Electronics has included Aerolink in their R-Car V2X reference design. It has also been successfully implemented in the majority of Ann Arbor Safety Pilot vehicles through a program sponsored by the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI).
