Cabonline Group Selects GigaSpaces to Enhance Booking Platform

GigaSpaces (News - Alert), a provider of in-memory computing (IMC) technologies, today announced the use of its XAP platform by Cabonline Group, a leading European provider of on-demand taxi and technology services. Cabonline Group chose GigaSpaces after an extensive review, driven by their decision to overhaul and future-proof their IT infrastructure. The resulting technology stack increases flexibility and decreases latency in Cabonline's booking engine, enabling fleet owners and drivers to provide the fastest response time to riders.

GigaSpaces' new geospatial capabilities were a key factor in the decision. Launched as part of XAP 11, these features enable companies to draw actionable insights from real-time location data. For Cabonline, this can mean properly identifying the driver who will arrive most quickly or incorporating weather information to identify where blind spots are being created by the sun and delaying traffic.

"XAP's feature set is ideal for companies that need to incorporate location data, and enables us to provide a unique suite of benefits to the fleet operators and drivers we service," said Ronnie Bodinger, CIO at the Cabonline Group. "The ability to layer historical data like traffic patterns on the top of real-time geospatial information will allow us to connect drivers with passengers in the most efficient manner possible, while generating routes that save time for everyone involved."

Cabonline Group coordinates more than 20 million trips annually, providig apps and web solutions for fleet operators that range from 24/7 traffic management to in-car systems for taxi drivers and cabs. Leading transport companies across the Nordics, such as Taxi Kurir, Taxi 020, Taxi Norway, TOPCAB, Taxi Skane and Sweden Taxi, utilize Cabonline's seamless technology to provide an extraordinary user experience.

"XAP empowers Cabonline to improve riding experiences for its customers' drivers and passengers," said Ali Hodroj, VP of Products and Strategy for GigaSpaces IMC Business Unit. "With this implementation, Cabonline can easily scale to meet the needs of its growing client base while adding new features based on real-time location data."

The agreement between Cabonline Group and GigaSpaces came about as a result of a reseller agreement with SO4IT AB, one of Sweden's leading authorities on large scale enterprise solutions and a technology reseller for GigaSpaces.
