SANS Announces Agenda for Houston Industrial Control Systems Security Training EventBETHESDA, Md., June 6, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, announced the agenda for the Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Security Houston, Texas training event taking place July 25 – 30. Included among the courses offered is the new first run course, ICS456: Essentials for NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP). This new course offers in-depth knowledge of requirements and implementation strategies to meet cybersecurity and compliance objectives. "As July 1st comes and goes, organizations will have completed many of their NERC CIP version 5 and 6 projects, however the process of maintaining a NERC CIP program is where the real challenges begin. As I consider the complexities of ensuring a safe, reliable, secure, and compliant system today and in the future as the regulatory landscape and cybersecurity risks change, I am certain the only way an organization can be successful is with a capable well trained team," said Tim Conway, SANS ICS Technical Director and co-author of the ICS456 course. ICS Security Houston will feature the popular ICS410: ICS/SCADA Security Essentialsand ICS515: ICS Active Defense and Incident Response courses. SANS will also offer its new hosted course, Assessing and Exploiting Control Systems as well as the Critical Infrastructure and Control System Cybersecurity. Lee who, along with the SANS ICS team, was first to reveal the malware uncovered in the network and later confirmed the cyber attack.
