SID Names Display Week's Best In Show And I-Zone Winners
CAMPBELL, Calif., May 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Society for Information Display (SID), celebrated the winners of the Best in Show and I-Zone (Innovation Zone) during its annual Awards Luncheon held today during Display Week 2016. The winners of the Display Industry Awards announced last week were also honored at the luncheon.
The Best in Show awards honor the most significant advances in display technology and systems, products, prototypes and manufacturing processes presented by exhibitors at Display Week. Winners are chosen for their ability to generate excitement within the display industry, along with the general public, global media and analyst communities. This year's winners were selected from close to 200 exhibitors. The exhibits will remain open on Thurs., from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the San Francisco Moscone Convention Center.
Large Exhibit Category:
- LG Display for its high-dynamic range 77-inch UHD OLED TV (booth #705)
Medium Exhibit Category:
- E Ink for its breakthrough color e-paper display (booth #521)
- Asahi Glass Co. for its unique booth presentation showcasing integrated display technologies (booth #1121)
Small Exhibit Category:
- DigiLens for its unique presentation of highly efficient, holographic head-up display technology (booth #228)
- MY Polymers for its low-refractie-index liquid optically clear adhesive with high-bonding strength (booth #1409)
The popular I-Zone, sponsored by E Ink, returned for its fifth year, and showcased cutting-edge demos and prototypes that will lead to the products of tomorrow. This year's winner of the "Best Prototype" is nVerpix for its Vertical Organic Light Emitting Transistor Display. In addition to the awards ceremony, this year's luncheon featured Prof. Jitendra Maliki, from the University of California at Berkeley. He spoke on Deep Visual Understanding from Deep Learning.
