Two NIC Services Place In Top 8 of ACT-IAC Awards

From a field of nearly 150 entries, two services, Gov2Go and the Montana Business Checklist, were recognized as Top 8 finalists at the ACT-IAC (News - Alert) Igniting Innovation awards on April 25 in Washington, D.C.

Gov2Go, developed by NIC subsidiary the Arkansas Information Consortium, is a first-of-its-kind innovative, personalized, proactive digital government assistant that learns about its users and then brings relevant government services and information to them on their computers, mobile devices, and Apple (News - Alert) watches. The system keeps track of deadlines like assessing, paying property taxes and renewing car tags and sends users relevant reminders based on their needs.

"We are extremely grateful to be selected as a Top 8 Igniting Innovation awards finalist," said Bob Sanders, AIC General Manager. "Last year we launched this innovation for the citizens of Arkansas, and it is great to have this new solution be recognized."

The Montana Business Checklist, developed by NIC (News - Alert) subsidiary Montana Interactive in partnership with the Montana Governor's Office of Economic Development, helps both new and existing Montana businesses. The system helps new entrepreneurs identify the necesary steps that must be completed in order to start a business. The Business Checklist also assists existing business owners by identifying the needs of their particular business structure and location while also learning more about the various taxes, permits, licenses, and any other additional requirements associated with their business.

"We are proud to be recognized by ACT-IAC as a top innovator. This award shows our dedication to creating services for our government partners that deliver efficiencies through the use of technology," stated Montana Interactive General Manager Becki Kolenberg.

The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council's (ACT-IAC) Institute for Innovation Igniting Innovation 2016 Showcase and Awards recognize the most innovative uses of technology to improve government programs and services to citizens. Of the nearly 150 applicants, 40 were selected as finalists to showcase their innovations at the awards program. The winners were determined through a combination of judging and social media voting by attendees at the event.
