NIRI-Chicago Congratulates Chapter Members Who Have Earned Investor Relations Charter (IRC) Credentials

The Chicago Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI-Chicago) congratulates its chapter members who passed a rigorous examination in March to earn the new Investor Relations Charter (IRC™) credential from the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI):

• Michael A. Steele, Vice President, Investor Relations, Zebra Technologies Corp.

• Heather J. Wietzel, Manager, Investor Relations, Corning (News - Alert) Inc.

"NIRI-Chicago members represent 13 percent of the inaugural class of IRC credential holders - one of the largest groups of IRC holders in any NIRI chapter," said Victoria Sivrais, NIRI-Chicago president. In addition, NIRI-Chicago recognizes the following chapter members who were among the IR professionals who developed the exam and/or the investor relations Body of Knowledge reference book and job analysis on which the IRC program is based:

The new IRC program establishes a common framework to define the profession of investor relations and provides IR professionals with the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, expertise and commitment to the profession. The IRC is NIRI's first professional credential. To earn and maintain the IRC credential, a candidate must meet educational and professional experience requirements - including a minimum of three years in IR - adhere to the IRC Code of Conduct and to NIRI's Code of Ethics, pass the IRC exam and participate in ongoing professional development activities. The inaugural IRC recipients will be honored in June during the 2016 NIRI Annual Conference.
