Stepes Presents Mobile Translation at TAUS Executive Forum

Stepes (pronounced / 'steps/), the world's first mobile platform for human translation, was featured as a technology leader at the 2016 TAUS Executive Forum in Beijing. The TAUS forum this year focused on identifying game changers in localization. In addition to Stepes, representatives from HP, VMware, Huawei, LeEco and Microsoft (News - Alert) were present among other globalization and localization leaders.

In his presentation, Stepes founder Carl Yao discussed how mobile translation powered by human translators is poised for rapid growth as businesses increasingly demand near simultaneous translation services to compete in global markets. The digital revolution has only quickened the pace at which companies must respond to global market demands. Thus, the ability to translate digital content with quality and in real-time to meet the growing needs of international customers is essential to ensure global success.

'Desktop based translation solutions do not have the agility and speed of mobile based technology that notifies linguists instantly of job requests so they can immediately translate anytime and anywhere, all from their smartphone,' said Yao. 'However, translation service with extremely fast turnaround is exactly what the market increasingly requires.'

Launched in January 2016, Stepes broadens the scope of translation by providing a mobile platform for clients and translators. Whereas traditional translation software is overly technical and thus not easily accessible to many translators, mobile technologies such as Stepes make translation tools intuitive and free. Mobile translation can now drive just-in-time translation services to global clients around the clock.

'Mobile translation is a game changer that most companies cannot afford to miss,' continued Yao. Currently, 70% of digital content is now generated and consumed on mobile devices, so translating on mobile is keenly needed to bridge the gap of global content localization.
