Riverbed SteelHead Becomes First WAN Optimization Solution to Achieve U.S. Defense Security Certification


Riverbed (News - Alert) Technology, the application performance company, today announced Riverbed SteelHead has received a Secure Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) certification from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), making Riverbed the first wide-area network (WAN) optimization provider to achieve STIG accreditation.

Riverbed is attending the AFCEA Defensive Cyber Operations Symposium in Washington DC, April 20-22, 2016.

STIGs are designed to assist in implementing the secure deployment of products and contain technical guidance on how to secure information systems and software that might be vulnerable to attack. With STIG approval, Riverbed will work with U.S. Department of Defense and other federal agencies to install SteelHead into their network architecture to greatly improve application performance while ensuring strict compliance with security protocols.
