Projector Raises $4.5 Million in Seed Financing

SAN FRANCISCO, April 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Projector, a leading innovator in adaptive messaging and push notifications, today announced that it has raised $4.5 million in seed financing led by Baseline Ventures in participation with Freestyle Capital, SV Angel, IDG Ventures and True Ventures.

Projector (currently in private beta) is a platform that helps developers and product teams expand their product experiences outside the confines of their app. Providing an advanced rules engine and machine learning that adapts to the individual preferences of each user, Projector takes the noise out of alerts while improving engagement. Projector enables mobile application users to have full control and tailor their notifications to be more interesting, useful and helpful.

Projector's SaaS technology sits between the app and the push notification servers from Google® or Apple®. The platform processes notifications as they are triggered by events within the app. Without touching their existing codebase, developers can compensate based on real-time feedback and make immediate adjustments to frequency, content, and other notification prameters.

A syndicate of angels, including Owen Van Natta, Dick Costolo, Damien Weiss and Jeremy LaTrasse also participated in the round. The funding will be used to bring the development of the Projector service out of Beta and into new market segments.
