Ethernet Alliance Plugfest is Catalyst for Internet of ThingsThe Ethernet Alliance, a global consortium dedicated to the continued success and advancement of Ethernet technologies, today announced it is hosting a Power over Ethernet (PoE) interoperability test event on March 29 - 31, 2016, at the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL (News - Alert)) in Durham, N.H. WHAT: The first IEEE 802.3 PoE specification was introduced more than a decade ago. PoE technologies are now expanding beyond the enterprise, becoming an important catalyst for emerging application spaces like the Internet of Things. This multi-vendor plugfest brings together a diverse array of equipment and technologies to test interoperability and conformance with IEEE 802.3® specifications. WHEN & WHERE: The Ethernet Alliance (News - Alert) PoE Plugfest is March 29-31, 2016 at UNH-IOL, Durham, N.H. WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Ethernet Alliance members interested in testing products in a multi-vendor environment, with the goal of promoting user cofidence in IEEE (News - Alert) 802.3-based PoE products. WHY ATTEND: The Ethernet Alliance PoE plugfest will gather members and industry stakeholders, at UNH-IOL's test labs. The event presents an opportunity for members to perform in-depth industry testing, while enhancing market positioning and mitigating risk.
