Warriors4Wireless Names Vince Patton as New President

WASHINGTON, March 14, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Warriors4Wireless (W4W) is pleased to announce the selection of Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard (Ret.) Dr. Vince Patton as the organization's new President. Vince will take the helm beginning March 15, 2016.

As president, Dr. Patton will have overall responsibility for W4W, a nonprofit career development program designed exclusively for transitioning military service members and veterans providing them a unique opportunity to become trained for careers in the telecommunication industry doing construction, installation and maintenance of cellular towers and broadband installations.

Patton replaces Kelley Dunne, who served as President since he cofounded the organization with Earl Scott in 2012. Dunne will become Chair of the Warriors4Wireless Board of Directors.

"We are extremely excited about Vince coming on board," said Kelley Dunne. "He brings the experience gained over a 30 year career in the Coast Guard, incredible education credentials, and a wealth ofexperience in the non-profit arena that will take W4W to new levels of service and opportunity for America's veterans."

Vince served as the Eighth Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard from May 1998 until his retirement from more than 30 years of active service in November 2002. His illustrious career included staff and operational assignments throughout the United States, along with a joint military service assignment in Cuba and Haiti. Among his numerous military awards includes the Distinguished Service Medal, which is the nation's highest military peacetime recognition for performance of duty.

"Warriors4Wireless helps our Nations' vets make the transition from military service to a return to private life, a good paying job and a rewarding career," Dr. Patton said. "The wireless and telecom industry has an urgent need for thousands of newly trained workers to build and retrofit wireless infrastructure across America. We match the need to help our vets transition careers to the opportunities available in the wireless industry."

Warriors4Wireless (W4W) is a non-profit formed to bridge the gap between the demand for trained and deployable wireless technicians, and the thousands of qualified service men and women eager to transfer the skills they've learned in the military. W4W is now supported by over 40 industry partners, which account for thousands of available jobs in the telecommunications industry.
